Wind and storm in different cities of Punjab, 14 people killed in various accidents

14 people were killed and 51 injured in various accidents due to wind and storms in various cities of Punjab, including Islamabad.

Islamabad received heavy rain with strong winds and hail. Water entered houses in the Aab Para. The water level in the Nala Lai increased, and a rain emergency was imposed in Rawalpindi due to the rains.

After a storm and rain in Lahore, electricity was cut off in the entire city, many trees were uprooted, several booths at Gaddafi Stadium were blown away, and searchlight poles fell, causing the practice of Lahore Qalandars and Quetta Gladiators to be canceled.

Winds also blew in Multan, Hafizabad, Gujranwala, Attock and Sialkot, turning the scene from day to night. Solar panels were blown away at several locations in different cities.

According to rescue officials, 14 citizens were killed and 51 injured in the storm and windstorm in the province.

According to the PDMA, the deaths were caused by the collapse of dilapidated houses and unsafe locations. In Lahore, incidents of falling trees and damage to solar panels were reported.

According to the PDMA, financial assistance will be provided to the affected families as per the policy of the Punjab government.

Apart from Punjab, it also rained in various cities of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. While a dust storm hit Peshawar, it rained in various cities including Malakand, Abbottabad, Mardan, Charsadda and Mansehra.

In Swat, water entered houses and shops, and hail damaged crops and gardens.

Rain also fell in various areas in Azad Kashmir, including the Neelum Valley and Muzaffarabad. The Neelum Highway was closed at Barian Seri due to floodwaters.
