Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has said that U.S. President Donald Trump’s offer of mediation opened the door to peace, but India’s rejection is evidence of its war-oriented mindset.
In his message on Kashmir Martyrs’ Day, Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi paid tribute to the Kashmiris who sacrificed their lives on 13 July 1931, stating, “We salute the sacrifice of 22 Kashmiri martyrs who faced bullets in respect of the call to prayer (Azaan).”
He said, “13 July 1931 was the first alarm of freedom of conscience against a system that tried to silence the voice of the oppressed. The Dogra regime’s rifles and India’s current oppression are two forms of the same cruelty.”
In his message, he added, “In Indian-occupied Kashmir, suppressing beliefs, identity, and opinion through state force is a humiliation of human dignity. The Modi government is following the same oppressive path as the Dogra regime once did.”
Mohsin Naqvi stated that President Trump’s offer of mediation opened a door to peace, but India closed that door itself by refusing. He remarked that refusing peace is proof of India’s warlike mentality.
The Interior Minister further said, “The cry for freedom rising from the blood of martyrs cannot be suppressed. Pakistan is the protector, standard-bearer, and guarantor of Kashmiris’ right to self-determination.”
