Pakistan will not compromise on its share of water, PM’s message to India from international platform

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has once again made it clear to India that Pakistan will not compromise on its share of water. Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, while addressing the International Glacier Conservation Conference on Monday, said that there are 13,000 glaciers in Pakistan, the protection of which is very important for us. Half of Pakistan’s water comes from glaciers.

He said that Pakistan’s glaciers are melting rapidly due to climate change. Despite having a very low share in the emission of toxic gases, Pakistan is among the 10 countries in the world that are most affected by climate change.

He added that in 2022, floods and torrential rains were experienced due to climate change, and the ecosystem is also being affected due to climate change.

The Prime Minister of Pakistan said that developed countries should fulfill their responsibilities to address the challenge of climate change and increase investment in early warning systems in developing countries.

Discussing Indian water aggression, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that India’s decision to unilaterally suspend the Indus Waters Treaty is condemnable. Pakistan will not compromise on its share of water.
